After enchanting Armenian audiences and receiving the Mayor’s Golden Medal for his significant contribution to the development of world music, as well as the cultural life of the city of Yerevan, Plácido Domingo returns to Spain for a Gala at Auditorio di Zaragoza, in celebration of Hispanic Heritage.

"YEREVAN, OCTOBER 7, ARMENPRESS. Yerevan Mayor Tigran Avinyan awarded the Yerevan Mayor's Golden Medal to world-renowned opera singer Plácido Domingo, Avinyan said on Facebook.

Following a glorious Zarzuela Gala in Murcia, Spain, Plácido Domingo travels to Armenia on October 8 to perform at the Aram Khachaturian Concert Hall in Yerevan.

Following his highly acclaimed farewell concert in Hamburg, Plácido Domingo returns to Spain on October 4 for a Zarzuela Gala organised by Universidad Católica de Murcia in remembrance of its president and founder, José Luis Mendoza.

On September 29, Plácido Domingo travels to Germany for a very special Gala Concert at Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, bidding farewell to a city that played a major role in his unparalleled career. 

This year's Operalia's First Prize honors were awarded to Kathleen O'Mara (soprano, USA) and Le Bu (bass-baritone, China), who were also honored with the Birgit Nilsson Award.
