Domingo joins Netrebko in Paris for La Traviata

On February 21, 25, and 28, Plácido Domingo joins Anna Netrebko for three performances of La Traviata at Opéra national de Paris. Domingo sings the baritone role of Giorgio Germont, a concerned father who separates his son Alfredo (Charles Castronovo) from the former courtesan Violetta (Anna Netrebko). The production, directed by Benoît Jacquot, beautifully portrays the immense tragedy of a heroine torn between love and moral duty. Domingo's portrayal of the older Germont captures both the man's concern for his family in Act II and his immense remorse upon meeting the doomed Violetta in Act III.
