  • New Recording: Watch Plácido Domingo in Verdi's Macbeth

Plácido Domingo stars as the King of Scotland in the LA Opera production of Verdi: Macbeth, released on DVD/Blu-ray by Sony Classical.

The video release captures the Darko Tresnjak-directed production mounted in Los Angeles in October 2016.

"All baritones shouldn’t and don’t sound alike, and Domingo’s vocal character is special. He commands the stage and the music he sings" - LA Times

Domingo portrays the timeless Shakespeare character torn between ambition and guilt, joined by mezzo-soprano Ekaterina Semenchuk as Lady Macbeth, Ildebrando D'Arcangelo as Banquo, Joshua Guerrerro as Macduff, and the LA Opera orchestra and chorus conducted by James Conlon.
